JOnathan Robinson | Founder

Jonathan Robinson is a specialist in aid worker security, conflict analysis, and civil-military operations. With nearly a decade of experience working in the Middle East, Jonathan has collaborated with numerous local, regional, and international humanitarian, security, and peacebuilding organizations in complex emergencies and post conflict settings.

His work has included supporting The Carter Center’s Syria conflict resolution program, the International NGO Safety Organization’s (INSO) Syria team, Caritas Switzerland’s Jordan, Lebanon, Syria and Ukraine programs, The Halo Trust’s Yemen program, as well as the United Nations Department of Safety and Security (UNDSS) in Syria. Prior to joining the humanitarian security sector, Jonathan worked as a security analyst for a private security company in Qatar, the United Arab Emirates, and southern Iraq. He currently works as a professor in the International Programs Department at the U.S. Naval War College. Jonathan holds a Masters in Islamic and Middle Eastern studies from the University of Edinburgh, and an undergraduate degree in archaeology from Durham University.

Graduates in Security is run as a volunteer initiative developed and maintained solely by Jonathan Robinson. He manages this platform in his own time with no external funding or institutional direction.
